The great thing about a barbecue party is that people will entertain themselves. Whether it happens because of the location, or because of the livelihood of barbecuing, there are always a couple of things going on simultaneously, which causes the party to host itself. When everyone is busy with something, you can just focus on whatever you want to do, and you don’t have to entertain your guests anymore.
If you go for a beach theme, be sure to include beach chairs, some towels hanging around, and an Hawaiian styled choice of music playing in the background. The best ideas are usually your own and they come during the preparation itself, so use some imagination and just start building a beach themed party.
If there will be children attending, it is best to choose a time that allows their parents to go home on time as well. Start in the afternoon and aim to finish all the eating at 7.30 pm. This way, parents can decide for themselves if they and their children want to attend a bit longer or not. If there a no children, be sure to start the party right after people finish work. The transition from office to beach party is the best thing you can provide to your guests.
Ensure to provide a wide selection of food types. Meat, bread, vegetables, a salad and a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
One thing a lot of people forget about, is getting a good selection of sauces. Sauces complement dishes tremendously and can extract the right flavor from your food. People rarely ask, what type of specific meat is this. They always wonder about the sauce.
